In the recent issue of “Shedia” for the month of May, special reference is made to sperm donation, to the possibility of donor selection with identification of the child, as well as to those people who wish to procreate through this procedure, and to the characteristics that a prospective donor must possess, according to the specifications of the Cryopreservation Bank “Cryogonia”.

The Director of “Cryogonia” Dr. Lina A. Evgeni outlines both the profiles of women who decide to use a sperm bank in order to become mothers and that of people who wish to become donors. It describes the selection process for donor candidates, who undergo a series of thorough checks and evaluations and whose samples are then frozen until they are deemed suitable through specific tests to be safely made available to recipients.
