Campaign against male infertility in Thessaloniki

The Panhellenic Campaign “TOGETHER IN THE CYCLE OF LIFE,” focused on the significance of fertility prevention and men’s health, successfully completed its fourth stop in Thessaloniki. The event took place at the Ceremonial Hall of the University of Macedonia.

The Hellenic Society of Andrology and the Hellenic Cancer Society launched the initiative. It was supported by the Ministry of Family and Social Cohesion, the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki, the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Medical Association of Thessaloniki, and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki through its Health Committee, the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Health Sciences, and the Department of Medicine.

An open forum focused on men’s health and the significance of preventative measures took place, featuring an interactive discussion between specialists and the public. The event was moderated by journalist Celia Harisi, who also serves as an Ambassador for the campaign.

The speakers, including the Director of Cryogonia Dr. Lina A. Evgeni, highlighted critical issues such as the male contribution to infertility, the necessity of andrological testing from an early age, sexual health, the value of testosterone, spermogram, testicular cancer and cryopreservation, providing valuable information and new perspectives to the audience.
