The most recent data provided by Eurostat with regard to the low birth rates in Europe and especially in our country, are very alarming: the mean European fertility rate is 1.57, whereas the necessary rate for a complete population renewal without the need of immigration should reach 2.1. Greece is rated 17th among European countries, with a total fertility index of only 1.42. Male infertility is one of the causes related to this phenomenon, justifying the need of many men of reproductive age to preserve their fertility potential. In the context of a widespread campaign targeted to inform the public on the subject of male infertility and the methods of male fertility preservation, the scientific director of CRYOGONIA Sperm Bank, Dr Lina Evgeni, was invited to  contribute in numerous specialized scientific editorials.
